This book is a must read. I thoroughly enjoyed the way this was laid out. At first I thought this was going to be a ho-hum run of the mill succubus story with a slew of sex and I was just wrong on all accounts. This is a love story and I generally stay about as far away from those as a vampire does the sun. This however was well written. This is the story of two people learning more about themselves as well as learning how to open up. John is one of those people who is socially awkward and really doesn't know his way around a woman, only to start the single most eye opening experience of his life. A succubus named Raethiana tries to kill him (like most women try to do their husbands) and ends up not being able to. This starts her on a quest to figure out what in the hell he is and she also just moves in and decides to become John's roomate. At the beginning it's all about sex with them, but as time goes on, it starts to become more and more to the point that John realizes that he has feelings for Rae, but understands that she is what she is and there's nothing he can really do about that......that is until Rae's Mistress, Norrana shows up and spills the beans on a secret that not even John knew about.....I'm going to stop there because this is one of those books you should just read. It's not over the top with sex and there's a lot of back and forth with the books. I can say that if anything, I really like this story because I'm a fan of character development and there is a LOT of that going on with John. I only wish there was more to this series.Product details

John Dylena blends urban fantasy with erotica in this edge-of-your-seat narrative!
I read all three parts of the Raethiana Trilogy before, but having them in one book really shows off the author's ability to weave separate stories into one sexy, fast-paced adventure. There's sex, romance, magic, epic battles, and at the heart of it all, there's a love story for the ages. Watching John and Raethiana transcend mortal limitations to grasp at True Love beyond human understanding is an incredible experience, and I was immersed in their story from the get-go. The characters grow and change so much within the pages of this novel that you feel like you know them intimately, and by the time it's all over, I was left with a feeling of nostalgia and a twinge of sadness. I miss them already!
This author is an incredible storyteller and what he offers is both genuine and unique, a scarce commodity these days. Seriously, pick this one up. It's a far cry from the typical urban fantasy model and it's SO worth it!
There's so much going on here, so many secrets and twists to be revealed, that I really need to be careful not to spoil anything for new readers. It really is full of delightful surprises, some of them sexy and fetishistic, but others rather clever and plot-driven. It's a novel that has a lot of fun playing with the conventions of the urban fantasy/paranormal romance genres.
It all starts with a young man who gets picked up in a bar by an impossibly beautiful woman, goes home, gets thrown into bed, and is then shown the night of his life. It's an absolute fantasy scenario for any horny young virgin, and the first big twist comes when Raethiana reveals herself to be a succubus and expresses such shock that sex didn't kill him. She must know how he managed to resist her sexual magic, so she decides to move in, take over his life, and tease him beyond belief. It sounds like an odd couple kind of comedy, and that element is certainly there, but there's a much bigger story beneath it all.
There's a significant amount of conflict here, involving both a hunter of supernatural creatures and a rebellion in the supernatural realm. There's more than enough action and horror to entertain any reader, but there's also a surprisingly seductive tale of romance woven into the erotic fetish exploration. Raethiana and John, succubus and human, explore a wide range of erotic adventures together - some of my favorites, of course, involving gender-bending magic - all leading to an honest-to-gosh romance that really serves as the heart of the tale.
I know, I know, I'm teasing a lot without really saying much, but I don't want to give anything away. You really need to see for yourself how and why the relationship develops the way it does, where the gender bending aspects come in, and how all the story threads come together in a fantastic climax. I loved it, and I came away from it aroused, amused, and astounded. Dylena sets up a lot at the start, and seems to be almost promising too much, but it all pays off in the end.
When the shy and socially inept young man, John, survives the night with a succubus, named Raethiana, the story takes off into an exploration of the underworld of demons and spirits. Over time the two find out that they actually share a great deal in common and eventually a romance blossoms. If you're looking for porn, there is only a little here. Yes, there are many sex scenes, but Dylena is not at his best here. Actually, this is more a romance and some daring-do, as the forces of good and evil in the underworld clash and Raethiana and John need to fight for the survival of the good. So, I think of this as disappointing. It's not good porn, not good action, and is just a mildly good romance.
Interesting take on the "otherworld" and its inhabitants but a trifle adolescent at times.
I was unable to finish it. It has some good ideas, but unfortunately the writing style is not able to engage. I suggest a rewrite.
A very cute story and an entertaining read. The story was short, characters not too 'fleshed out' but am not sure it makes a difference to the story. I had fun reading it. Will consider purchasing more from this author.
