Round two of the Out of Uniform series is a novella-length read featuring Marcy Bellini and police office, Aaron Robinson.
Marcy’s life for the past three years has been ensuring her three-year old daughter, Claire has a good and stable life. As an elementary school teacher, Marcy’s job provides a steady income and with no social life at all, Marcy is always home and always available for her daughter. Marcy has no intention nor plan to change her routine until the night she ends up at a party for her neighbor and good friend, Bri Nave. With a sitter at home, the encouragement of her friends to let loose and, a few shots in her, Marcy finds herself face-to-face with her long time crush, Aaron Robinson. And by face-to-face I mean getting down and dirty in the alley behind the bar.
Aaron Robinson has long carried a torch for his sister’s best-friend, Marcy Bellini. Wellingford is a small town and Aaron knows every obstacle Marcy has overcome to establish a stable and secure life for herself and her daughter. With every intention of finally making Marcy his, Aaron is taken completely by surprise by Marcy in the alley behind Chilly’s. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Aaron goes right with Marcy for one hell of a ride that he instantly wants a repeat of. Aaron is gentleman though and is determined to treat Marcy like the lady he knows her to be and so, he asks her out. Mind you, it takes Aaron more than a few phone calls and one more seriously hot encounter before he can get Marcy to agree to a proper date.
Marcy has resigned herself to a relatively lonely life that is born out of her intense desire to protect her daughter. Not dating means not exposing Claire to any uncertainty or instability but also means Marcy has no true companionship in her life. Her past experience with Claire’s sperm donor has made her incredibly wary but if there was ever going to be a man to trust, Aaron Robinson would be it. She has known Aaron for more than a decade and in every encounter she has had with him, he has proven himself to be an honorable and good man with nothing but good intentions toward her. Aaron is a kind man who is willing to go slowly for Marcy’s sake but in a moment of pure, unadulterated panic brought on by her daughter catching them in the act, Marcy pushes Aaron away and makes it clear there is no room for him in her life.
The Bottom Line: His to Keep is a short and sweet read that fits in so nicely with the Out of Uniform series. Marcy is such a sweet girl who has worked so hard to provide for her daughter that is absolutely understandable why she has such a hard time allowing any man into her life. I love that Aaron is the man she chooses to trust and it makes perfect sense that he is one given their long history. Aaron’s kindness is matched by his determination and patience and he doesn’t give up on Marcy even when she makes it clear he should. This quick read is just perfect but it is the epilogue that really takes it over the top. In all, a fine addition to the Out of Uniform series.

Katee Roberts has done it again with this novella. I have fallen head of heels for another of her hunky heroes with Aaron.
He is everything you want in a book boyfriend, he's hot, alpha to the core, good with kids, hot, a friendly guy, nice to old ladies fantastic in and out of a bed and did I mention he's hot ????
But let's not forget our heroine who I want as a best friend. She a devoted mother and teacher, a great friend and so hot for Aaron that steam practically seeps from her pores when he's around. Who could blame her.
When these two come together it's sizzling, smoking hot. Well the tension has been building for ten years and when it comes to the boil it gets let out, yowza ! That's all I will say.
Plus the epilogue had me tearing up and loving Aaron even more.
This is another great read from this author and it shows why she is an auto buy for me.

I absolutely loved this story by Katee Robert. I was a huge fan of the first book in the Out of Uniform series and I was excited to read another story in the series. I really liked Marcy and how dedicated she was to being a good mom and keeping Claire as her main focus. I’m glad that she decided to give Aaron a shot though and that it wasn’t just a sexual relationship. They were hot as heck together and I loved that they were so unpredictably wild together.
I’m a fan of the best friend’s brother trope and this was perfect. They both had crushes on the other. They had one moment when they were younger that they couldn’t forget about, even though it didn’t end well. There are some amazingly sexy, swoonworthy lines in this book. Like when Aaron tells Marcy “If anyone is going to take you off the shelf it’s going to be me. No one else.” Ummmm yes please.
I love Katee’s writing and I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I’m hoping that the elder Flannery brother will finally get the love that’s coming to him.
I loved this novella! It had two fantastic characters who I immediately wanted to root for and some smoking hot sex scenes that made me want to find my an Aaron of my own.
Aaron Robinson is a no-nonsense cop who has wanted his sister’s best friend, single mom Marceline Bellini, since she was seventeen years old and tried to seduce him. The timing never seemed quite right, though, what with her being so young and later marrying the a guy Aaron never thought deserved her, but now that it appears she’s ready for more, Aaron is bound and determined to make her his.
While the sex is spicy hot between Aaron and Marcy, Aaron wants more than that. He wants something real. Yet, thanks to Marcy’s failed marriage, and her fear of screwing up her daughter’s stable life, it takes some doing for Aaron to convince the woman to give them a true chance. Aaron refuses to walk away without a fight, though, something Marcy soon comes to appreciate about him.
This was a great love story. Hot, with a really solid romance. It’s was the perfect bridge between the first book, In Bed With Mr. Wrong, and the next book, Falling For His Best Friend (out May 19th).
A hot, sweet and light romantic novella!!!! Though the storyline was predictable, I loved how Katee Roberts has managed to weave a sexy romance with a splash of sweetness!!! This book was definitely my feel good warm fuzzy feeling book. Loved it!!!!
